The C.R.O. French Site in Pessac

Monnaie de Paris Pessac Coins Factory
In 1973, the State decided to create in Pessac (Gironde) a modern manufacturing facility to handle all processes in the manufacturing of circulating coins - from the foundry of raw metals to final packaging. Circulating French or foreign coins are now manufactured in the Pessac. In Pessac is settled the CNAP (French Coins Analysis Laboratory).

The CRO Laboratory in Pessac
The CRO main task is to check, before issuing a new coin, that its technical characteristics are different from those of coins already circulating in other countries. This verification is important for all issuing authorities, but is on the other hand only possible if, for all countries of the world, Mints or Treasuries or Issuing Bodies do participate in this common database.

Analysis of coins technical characteristics at the CRO
The CRO's wish nowadays is to increase the number of countries participating in the Coin Registration Office to provide a more comprehensive and consistent database and is pleased to invite each country to join.

If you want to register to Coin registration Office or submit a circulation coins please contact Pascal Rencker at CRO
